If you design or review stormwater management using

Low Impact Development techniques,

this is a MUST ATTEND event!

The Applied Low Impact Development (LID) Workshops are being held throughout the United States in 2006.  First stop: Orlando & Atlanta in March!

for locations and schedule, to download a PDF brochure, and to register.

Is this different from other LID workshops?

YOU BET!  This is an intensive hands-on, in-the-trenches exploration of how to do LID site designs.  The Applied LID Workshops don't preach about why Low Impact Development should be used. They demonstrate HOW LID site and stormwater management techniques can be applied to actual design problems. One of the most intimidating and challenging aspects of LID design is how to compute the hydrologic affects of a site. These workshops provide registrants with an efficient and viable solution. Attendees learn the details of applying LID design to their projects and how to determine if their designs meet LID criteria in an efficient and technically supported manner. All attendees receive a fully licensed TSA Tools LID module and numerous hard copy and digital references – everything needed to hit the ground running.

Who Should Attend?

Civil engineers, landscape architects, land planners, environmental scientists, and land developers with experience and interest in environmentally sensitive site and stormwater management design. Regulatory agencies and policymakers who want to learn about reasonable ways to implement and regulate LID in their jurisdiction.  These workshops assume pre-existing knowledge in site and stormwater management planning and design.

 Has it Been Done Before?

Yes, and very successfully. A series of three Applied LID workshops were held in November, 2005 in the Mid-Atlantic area. Attendees flocked to the sessions, coming from Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Michigan, Ohio, Canada, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, and Alabama. The positive response from attendees demonstrated a significant demand and spawned the national series in 2006.

Presenter

Mr. Theodore E. Scott, PE, CPESC

Mr. Scott is a nationally-renowned consultant on stormwater management and green building site design projects. He is President of T.E. Scott and Associates and has developed the TSA Tools software products, which are advanced tools for integrated SWM design.  Unlike many presenters, Mr. Scott specializes in APPLIED design using examples, processes, and tools that you can readily use. Leaving the theory to others, Mr. Scott focuses on what you need - the tools, information and resources to efficiently develop the best possible designs.
