Typically, a warranty should be established as a part of any plant installation project. The warranty should cover all components of the installation that the contractor is responsible for. A professional landscape contractor should perform the plant and mulch installation for bioretention. An example of standard guidelines for landscape contract work is provided below:

  • The contractor should maintain a care and replacement warranty for all plantings in accordance with industry standard and/or contractual arrangements with the owner.

  • As a minimum, the period of care and replacement shall begin after inspection and approval of the complete installation of all plants and continue for one year.

  • Plant replacements shall be in accordance with the maintenance schedule.

Again, commonly accepted criteria for your local area should also be followed.
